April 8th
ITBS Testing Our annual ITBS testing will be taking place the weeks of April 15th - April 22nd. There are scheduled for 2 weeks, but I do my best to complete the testing in one week. With that in mind, please try not to schedule any doctor's appointments or pull your kids out of school those weeks. This will ensure that they are present for all testing days. Otherwise, they will have to miss out on a special class or recess to make it up. For the testing, all you need to do is to ensure your student is well rested and well fed before coming to school. Spring Concert / Art Walk Our Spring Concert will be held on Wednesday, April 17th. More details on time and attire will be coming shortly. x5 Facts We will be moving onto x5 facts for the month of March/Part of April. Be on the lookout for the flashcards. Classroom Expectations/Changes Pencils - There has been an issue of students sharpening pencils during direct instruction. They are expected to sharpen 2 pencils as part of their morning routine. However, many of them are not completing this step. Therefore, I informed that I will now be taking a dojo point away if they sharpen during inappropriate times. Yellow Folder/Homework/Agenda - I am trying to increase the student's accountablity. I teach them that it is their job to bring their school materials back and forth. Therefore, if your student forgets their homework/agenda/folder - please do not bring it to school or copy it from another classmate. I want them to understand that there are consequences. I thank you for your understanding and cooperation. No Name Students will lose a point on any paper that does not have a name on it (classwork AND homework). This has been an expectation since kindergarten so this should not be a surprise. The students have been given fair warning. Starting second semester (January), any paper without a name will go in the trash can. Forgotten Homework Students are given 1 oops homework. After that, they will lose one point per day it's late. God Bless, Mrs. Karellas "Today, you lead the class. Tomorrow, your students will lead the world." Bathroom Policy
There has been some confusion over our bathroom policy. The goal is to ensure the safety and well-being of all students. We make sure of this by taking whole class bathroom breaks throughout the day. With that being said, students are allowed to use the bathroom if they need to go during the day. No student is prevented from using the bathroom.
